Living Tokyo is a concrete jungle. It snowed the other day and I took a picture to send home and it looked like someone spilled flour on an erectorset....just snow and buildings and sidewalks..
SO, instead of the gym I found a park yesterday and just walked around it. My neighborhood has ginko trees which are beautiful but when their nuts fall off the tree and are stepped on, it smells like a cat's litter box. For years I checked the bottom of my shoes.
But in the park there are beautiful trees and a cement man-made river with ducks. I did take a rest on a bench and was attacked by a swarm of pigeons who got uncomfortably close. I think they are used to being fed.
The teenager with the ipod and air rifle was disturbing because I could not tell if the gun was real. The angry man who sits on a bench all day and has a special table for his boombox to blare bad music into his face and the ears of everyone who passes by was not very conducive but I enjoyed the change.
So, my plan is weekdays at the gym so I will look forward to going back. They do not allow guns, loud music from boomboxes and pigeons are not members. So, I found some positive things about rules at the gym.
